Nicole Ari Parker has worked in film, TV, and on stages. She was best known for her role as Teri (the spirited attorney) Joseph. She is now known by her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. Her birthplace and childhood was within Baltimore Maryland. In her early years as a child, she displayed the desire to act and won the Best Actress Award at a Maryland High School Competition. Alongside her involvement at the theater as well as with The Washington Ballet Company.' She received an acting degree from New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first big role. Following this, she starred in films such as "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". Her performance in the TV series Soul Food' was immensely loved. In addition, she was a part of TV shows like Second Time Around 'and Empire. She was also on stage in a variety of productions in the beginning of her career. Parker, who takes active interest in politics is married to actor-model Boris Kodjoe. Two children were born to them.
Born from Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria from the age of seven. Contractor was well-versed in world travels and a variety of different cultures from a young age. She went to boarding school at the age of 7 until 9 in London. Then the family returned to Toronto (Canada) which is where they spent her entire childhood. Contractor was an outstanding student in Toronto and was trained as an expert ballet dancer. She attended an Etobicoke School of the Arts which is a highly specialized public arts high school in which she did not only dance but studied theater as well. Contractor was just 16 when she realized that acting was going to become her profession. She danced for a decade. Upon graduating from high school she was awarded a full scholarship to Toronto's University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theater and a dual major in psychology and sociology. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year, she was awarded the lead part. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 performances of the play. Contractor accepted the invitation to join Stratford's Conservatory. The Conservatory has only 8 men and four females accepted for a 20-week intensive course of classical theater. Contractor's place in the following production was secured, and she was offered the part in the play as Hermia.
